Becoming a member is easy!  Simply fill out our online form and pay via PayPal (very easy), or complete the registration form and return it to us along with a check to:

NSG

PO Box 3831

Stowe, VT 05672

Our membership price structure is as follows –

$39 per delivery location.  * An example of multiple locations at the same delivery location would be: 1 fuel oil for heating, 1 propane tank for cooking.  In this case your membership dues would be $78 annually.

Our membership calendar runs from June 1 to May 31.  Membership status must be renewed each year in order to stay current.

2.  How many suppliers does NSG work with?

We currently work with one supplier.  Please email or call for supplier information.

3.  How do I go about switching fuel suppliers if I do not use one that is currently affiliated with NSG?

Switching fuel suppliers (whether you use fuel oil or propane) is easy.  Once you submit your registration form and payment to NSG, we will notify our selected supplier of your membership status.  You can then be in touch with the new supplier to become a customer.  They will send you the appropriate documents you need to complete.  This will include a credit application.  Once your paperwork is processed and approved by the supplier they will contact you to schedule a safety inspection.  The safety inspection is to ensure that your system meets the minimum safety standards.  There is typically no charge for this inspection, however it is recommended that you confirm this when scheduling your appointment.  If you use propane the supplier will arrange to change out your propane tank at the same time, unless of course you own your own tank, or it’s underground.  Please be aware that the safety inspection is required prior to your first fill and most often requires your presence.

4.  What if my propane tank is underground?

Although you have an underground propane tank, it does not mean you are locked into staying with your current supplier.  Switching suppliers should still be hassle free.  If your current supplier owns the tank buried in your yard, your new and current supplier will make arrangements on how to handle the exchange of the tank.  This is something that suppliers typically arrange amongst themselves.  Rarely does it result in digging up the existing tank and installing a new one.

5. What happens to the fuel that is still in my tank?

If you use fuel oil, your tank will not be changed out; you own the tank and the product in it.

If you have an above ground propane tank, it is most likely that your new supplier will replace your current tank with one of theirs.  Your previous supplier is required to credit and refund you for the dollar value of the gas left in your tank.

6. When do I notify my current supplier that I am switching?

You want to make sure you notify your previous supplier that you have switched companies.  However you do not want to do this too soon; otherwise, it may result in an interruption of service.  Once you’ve decided to switch suppliers we recommend you contact your current supplier and request to change your deliveries to a “will call” basis. Doing so will not terminate your account with your current supplier.  It will simply stop them from coming and filling your tank automatically.  This way, should you require another fuel delivery prior to your safety inspection being completed you will be able to do so. Be sure to monitor your tank gauge until your automatic deliveries are set up with your new supplier.  Once they are, contact your previous supplier in writing to notify them that you’ve terminated services with them.  If their propane tank was swapped out by your new supplier make sure they know the tank is ready to be picked up.

7. How much does it cost to switch suppliers?

There is typically no charge to change fuel suppliers –whether you use fuel oil or propane.  However, you want to verify this with both your current and new supplier prior to initiating the change.  If your system does not meet the company’s minimum safety standards you will most likely be financially responsible for any upgrades.
